At Berman Subaru of Chicago, giving back to the community is more than a commitment—it's part of who we are. This June, we proudly partnered with Blood Cancer United to bring comfort, encouragement, and critical support to cancer patients and their families throughout the Chicago area as part of the annual Subaru Loves to Care® initiative.
Through this meaningful partnership, our team helped spread hope, love, and warmth by donating and delivering 80 customized heart-shaped blankets to patients receiving treatment at local hospitals and cancer treatment centers across the city. Each blanket was accompanied by a personalized message of hope, offering encouragement and support during a challenging time.
Bringing Comfort to Patients During Treatment
Cancer treatment can be physically and emotionally demanding. That's why every gesture of kindness matters. The customized heart-shaped blankets were designed to provide comfort while reminding patients that they are supported by their community. Along with each blanket, patients received heartfelt letters filled with words of encouragement and hope. These simple yet meaningful gifts help brighten treatment days and create moments of comfort for individuals battling cancer.
Donating Patient Care Kits to Blood Cancer United
In addition to the blanket donation, Berman Subaru of Chicago purchased and donated Patient Care Kits to Blood Cancer United. These thoughtfully assembled kits include practical and comforting items designed to help patients during treatment. Each item was carefully selected to provide comfort, relaxation, and support for patients as they navigate their treatment journey.
Supporting Families Beyond Medical Care
Berman Subaru of Chicago is also proud to contribute a $2,500 donation to support the Blood Cancer United Urgent Need Pediatric and Young Adult Program. This program provides financial assistance to families facing blood cancer diagnoses by helping offset non-medical expenses associated with treatment, including: Transportation costs, food expenses, housing assistance, utility bills, other essential daily living expenses.These resources can make a significant difference for families who are balancing treatment schedules, caregiving responsibilities, and financial challenges.

The impact of these programs extends far beyond a single donation. Last year alone, Subaru retailers across the country helped fund nearly $1.2 million in support, assisting more than 2,300 families facing blood cancer diagnoses. Tails Were Wagging at BARK in the Park!
There's something undeniably joyful about a park full of wagging tails, happy pups, and pet lovers celebrating the bond between animals and the people who adore them. That was the scene at the Anti-Cruelty's annual BARK in the Park, and Berman Subaru of Chicago was proud to be right in the middle of it all.
As part of Subaru's nationwide Subaru Loves Pets initiative, our team came ready to celebrate Chicago's four-legged community. We set up, handed out goodies, and spent the day surrounded by the best kind of co-workers — the furry, floppy-eared, occasionally-muddy kind.
Events like BARK in the Park are a reminder that Berman Subaru isn't just about finding you the perfect vehicle — we're neighbors. We care deeply about the Chicago community and the causes that make this city a little kinder, a little more compassionate, and a lot more fun for everyone — humans and animals included.

Some events leave you with a free tote bag. This one left you with a tree. Berman Subaru of Chicago recently hosted a free tree distribution event as part of Subaru's Subaru Loves the Earth initiative — and we handed out all 100 trees to members of our local community.
It was a simple idea with a quietly powerful impact: give people something living, something that grows, something that will still be standing long after the afternoon is over. And judging by the turnout, Chicago was ready to dig in.

Warming Hearts and Homes Here in Irving Park
Chicago winters are famously tough, but the warmth of our community is tougher. This year, Berman Subaru was honored to continue our tradition of giving back through our annual coat drive. As part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we partnered with Operation Warm and Cradles to Crayons to ensure that local children stay warm, safe, and confident this season. We are thrilled to announce that our recent distribution event at the Irving Park YMCA was a resounding success, providing 300 brand-new coats to families and children in need.
The energy at the Irving Park YMCA was incredible. Seeing the smiles on the kids' faces as they picked out their brand-new coats is exactly why we do what we do. By distributing 300 coats, we weren't just handing out winter wear; we were supporting the health and well-being of our local youth. Whether it’s waiting for the school bus or playing at the park, these children are now equipped to take on the winter months with warmth and dignity.

Paws-itively Adorable! Berman Subaru & Anti Cruelty Puppy Pop-Up Event!
Huge thank you to everyone that came out and supported the success of our recent Puppy Pop-Up adoption event, held in partnership with Anti-Cruelty. This special event reinforced our commitment to community engagement and the Subaru Love Promise, which prioritizes compassion for pets. We welcomed our valued Subaru customers and the local community to join us at our dealership for a fun morning with puppies and kittens in search of a new home.
This year’s event offered guests an engaging experience designed to facilitate the adoption process. Guests were provided with complimentary coffee and donuts and had the opportunity to meet several adoptable puppies and kittens from Anti-Cruelty in a comfortable setting.
A key feature of the day was the Puppy Fashion Show. Which highlighted the unique personalities of the adoptable puppies and showcased the joy a pet can bring to a household.
In addition to the fashion show, a dedicated pet photo station was available, allowing families and guests to capture memorable images with the animals. This provided a perfect keepsake for those considering adoption.
The true measure of the event's success was the tangible outcome for the animals. We were so happy to hear that the morning ended with two kittens finding their forever homes. These successful adoptions are a testament to the compassion of our community and the vital work performed by Anti-Cruelty. We greatly thank everyone who attended and supported this initiative. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Anti-Cruelty and upholding the Subaru commitment to supporting the well-being of our animals. Stay tuned for more fun events like this!
Trunk or Treat!
This past Saturday, our lot at Berman Subaru of Chicago was transformed into a friendly, festive Halloween wonderland for our first annual Trunk or Treat event! It was a fantastic afternoon filled with costumes, creatively decorated Subarus, and, of course, a ton of candy.
We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so memorable. Seeing all the amazing costumes, from adorable superheroes to cute sea creatures, and the sheer joy on the kids' faces was the best treat of all.

Residents had the opportunity to choose between a River Birch, Swamp White Oak, Baldcypress or the Black Tupelo to add their yards or neighborhoods. These aren't just any trees; they’re species carefully selected to thrive in our local climate and soil, providing vital benefits to our ecosystem. From supporting native wildlife and improving air quality to enhancing the beauty of our urban landscape, these trees are a gift that will continue to give for years to come.
